Keeping the cat clean — for the right reasons
Grooming at Bali Cat Center (BCC) is currently available for hotel guests staying at our Jadi Village cat hotel in Tabanan, Bali. We approach it a little differently from a conventional pet salon.
Our focus isn't primarily on making a cat look beautiful. It is about health, hygiene and comfort.
After all, cats already spend a surprising amount of time taking care of their own appearance. They don't particularly need us to turn them into show cats. Sometimes, though, a little help is useful.
Fur Is a Cat's Armor
A cat's coat does an important job. It protects the body and is part of the cat's natural equipment. But like any protective layer, it can become dirty over time. There are also times when a cat simply needs a little help keeping clean, particularly during a longer stay away from home. That's when grooming or a bath may become appropriate.
At BCC, we don't believe every cat automatically needs a bath just because they are staying with us. We look at the cat and the situation first.
The question isn't, "How do we make this cat look perfect?"
It's:
"What does this cat need?"
What Does BCC Cat Grooming Include?
Our grooming service focuses on some basic areas of hygiene and cleanliness.
Paws
Silver water paw cleaning.
A simple way of helping keep the paws clean during a cat's stay.
Face
Eye, ear and overall facial cleaning.
Because small areas around the face can also need a little attention from time to time.
Mouth
Mo Haku mouth spray.
Included as part of the basic grooming care.
Bath
Two types of shampoo, with medicated and natural options depending on the purpose and the cat's needs.
The aim isn't to give every cat exactly the same treatment.
Grooming is considered according to the individual cat.
When Does a Cat Actually Need a Bath?
Cats are generally very good at keeping themselves clean. So we don't see bathing as something that has to happen simply because a certain number of days have passed.
Sometimes a coat becomes dirty enough that a bath is useful. Sometimes a cat may need additional hygiene care during a longer stay. And sometimes the cat is perfectly fine without one.
That's why we prefer to look at the cat rather than follow a beauty-salon timetable.
A clean cat is nice. A comfortable cat is better.
Grooming as Part of Your Cat's Stay
Because BCC grooming is currently available only to hotel guests, it can be arranged as part of your cat's stay with us. This can be particularly convenient if you're already planning a trip and your cat will be staying with us for several days or longer.
Instead of making another trip to a grooming salon before or after boarding, you can simply let us know that you'd like grooming considered during the stay. We'll look at your cat and what they need.
Sometimes it's a bath. Sometimes it's simply a little cleaning. And sometimes, the answer is to leave them alone.
That's part of our approach.
